What is it? XX Rose Glycolic gel is an exfoliating serum that contains 10% glycolic acid in a soothing base of rose water.

Notes from the Curator: This gel serum gently resurfaces the skin leaving it smooth, clear and bright. It works wonderfully overnight but sensitive skins can use this as a 2-5 minute flash mask.

Let’s get Nerdy: Glycolic acid has one of the smallest molecules of all AHAs & therefore is able to penetrate the skin. Glycolic acid helps correct hyperpigmentation & smooth fine lines & it’s really good for combating photoaging. Some studies show that glycolic acid elevates collagen production in dermal fibroblasts & that could be one mechanism by which it helps improve the condition of skin.

Monastery was founded by Athena Hewett. Athena has been a certified esthetician now for 20 years, starting her own skincare studio in San Francisco in 2011. Alongside her practice she introduced a skincare line inspired by her childhood summers in the Greek Cyclades, where her grandparents lived & owned an olive grove. Throughout her childhood, Athena learned from her grandmother & her mother, practices of picking & pressing local herbs & turning nuts into oils. How to Use
Apply 1-2 pumps right after cleansing and before the rest of your skincare regimen. For sensitive skin, apply as a mask for 2-5 minutes and rinse off with water.

Our glycolic acid is derived from papaya and sugarcane and works to correct pigmentation, banish acne, and smooth fine lines.
